Payhuddle assists one of the leading international payment schemes in developing its Generic wallet android SDK testing platform

Our client is a prominent global payment network aiming to develop a reliable and intuitive digital wallet solution integrating a 3rd party wallet SDK. They wanted to test the 3rd party SDK before integrating with their production wallet app. The objective is to furnish testers with a generic wallet mobile application with integrated 3rd party wallet SDK along with a wallet server capable of smoothly integrating with their digital token server. This integration will facilitate to perform end-to-end transactions through their exclusive token digital server platform designed to process tokenized transactions.

What did we do?

Drawing on our extensive experience collaborating with these payment brands on various innovative initiatives, we comprehended their requirements and devised a streamlined solution to address their needs.

We developed an Android mobile application capable of seamlessly integrating third-party wallet SDKs. This application enabled users to perform essential functions of Card provisioning and life cycle management. Additionally, we engineered a wallet server that acts as a bridge between the mobile app and their proprietary token server facilitating end-to-end transactions.

To enhance the debugging process, we created a web-based logger module. This module enables users to trace communication between the wallet SDK, wallet server, and token server, thereby facilitating SDK debugging. Users also have the option to view wallet SDK logs and manage user and lifecycle aspects through this module.

What challenges did we address during this project?
  1. Streamlined the process of app integration with the wallet SDK.

We simplified the process for field testers. This allowed them to do the following:

  • Use the web-based interface to add the tokenized card to the app
  • Use the NFC technology to simulate card profiles
  • Retrieve the transaction log after using it at the terminal
  • Use the transaction log for debugging purposes
  1. Added visibility into the communication between the wallet app, SDK, and token server interaction, giving the tester real-time debugging options
  1. Enhanced user management and logging options to see wallet app logs and perform SDK testing.
  1. Made the process less cumbersome as the field testers did not need to bring multiple test cards during testing.
Benefits for the customer

The Android app and the web-based solution helped the payment scheme reduce its administrative overhead by 80%.

By developing a self-testing platform that facilitates multi-user, parallel testing, we successfully reduced the time required for wallet field testing.
