PayHuddle assists one of the leading payment processors in developing its card image editor and card simulator automated solution

Context

The customer is a Fortune 500 organization and one of the largest payment processors. They offer solutions for banking, merchant acquiring, billing and payments, and point-of-sale. The customer wanted to simplify and automate the creation, editing, and simulation of L3 card images. They will use this solution for debugging of their POS terminals and to comply with the latest EMVCo L3 standards.

What did we do?

We used the existing card image editor and card simulator modules from our existing off-the-shelf products TSEC Editor® and Tecto® we developed a customized automation solution through which the customer can intuitively create and edit and simulate the L3 card images. With this automated solution, the card images can be simulated to test the various test case scenarios and identify field issues, such as identifying and fixing specific errors in the terminal's response. By simulating various card scenarios testers can identify the critical issues with their L3 testing.

What challenges did we address during this project?

  1. Establish a simplified and automated solution to resolve the terminal issues faster.
  1. Intuitively create, edit, and simulate L3 card image through automation
  1. The customer can simulate transactions and ensure that the terminal correctly interprets the transaction data and handles various critical scenarios in L3 debugging.

Benefits for the customer

  • Enter both EMV and proprietary commands
  • Compare two versions of the card images to identify the changes implemented
  • Focus only on the card feature and let go of remembering EMV command hex values with intuitive GUI
  • Identifying issues with L3 card personalization images, followed by card simulation to determine how they affect the terminal's response, leading to faster debugging cycles.

With this comprehensive automation solution, the customer was able to debug their terminals and comply with the latest EMVCo L3 compliance in one week instead of a month.
